CMS Toolbar Overview Video

Log into your website content management system. The URL is always your domain name followed by a slash and the word admin.

Enter your information and you will see an administrative tool bar across the top.

The entire admin for your CMS is handled with this top menu bar.

Many of the items here will be covered in their own video, including The 4 links on the left. Look Under the VRM Website management for links to the various tutorials.

On the far left you have the logout link, with profile next to it you can change your login information.

Under the help there is a link to the knowledge base where you will find these videos

Under tools are several items.  The first links to your VRM Admin Console.
The Next are two links for the image gallery which will be covered in a future video when the gallery is fully released.

The property link maps link is what you use to adjust the property map marker that shows on your property detail page as well as the rental location map. It will also be covered in its own video.

The clear cache link is the one I want to cover here as it can be very useful. VRM employs a server cache for images and some other data that is being called in from the VRM system in order to speed up the speed of our websites. This is different from your website browser cache and can’t be cleared by refreshing your browser. Its possible for the data to be cached for up to 2 hours. So if you are in VRM and updating images but you don’t see those images updating on the website there is a good chance it is due to the server cache. To clear the cache simply and click this link. It doesn’t look like it does anything other than open a new browser window. However, it does talk to our server and will clear any cache. Then you close the new tab, return to your website and refresh your page.

Note that the tool bar is not visible when you are on what we call the VRM pages. These are your search and booking pages and the information is coming from VRM. To edit the information on these pages, like property description, etc. you do that in VRM. If you are logged in and don’t see the toolbar, just return to the home page or any CMS page and the tool bar will be there. You can choose the clear cache from any page and it will talk to the VRM services.

That’s it for the overview. Be sure to check out the other videos for instructions on the individual tools.
