Monday, December 19th, around 9 pm VRM released version 5.8.
As stated before, this release primarily deals with the ranking of enhanced discounts and the introduction of the new Owner Markup, a mark up on rent that is processed as rent to the owner account and the management commission is based of the net result. We take great pains that this functionality works out of the box so that your existing configurations are not broken and all of your related VRM pieces continue to work. While we are confident that this holds true for your existing system here are some considerations moving forward:
- The new functionality - Owner Markups and ranking of discounts/markups are only compatible with the latest Online Search engine functionality.
- If you are using a VRM BookEasy Website and you would like to use this functionality but are unsure of what version your online search engine is, please contact us so that we can properly make determinations before you start making discount/markup rules.
- If you use a third party web developer and our API services then you should ask that they check to see which api version they are using. If they are using anything lower than 1.9.5 version then they should contact us about upgrading to the latest version of the API.
- Your Owner and Guest Extranets are fine and are backwards compatible with no further updates needed.
- Rental Price is now in red on the General tab of the reservation. This is to draw your attention to the label it self. Mouse over the label and you will get the total rent price as displayed to the guest, including discounts, markups, and "Confirmation No-Show" guest charges.
