2.4 - Event Messages

Event Messages

 
‘Event Messages’ are messages that you create and send on a continuing basis. These are set up to be automatically sent at a specific time relating to the check-in date, check-out date, payment, or cancellation of a reservation. For example, you can create a message to automatically be sent to every guest two days before their check-in date to remind them to pack paper products, or one week after check-out thanking them for their stay, or one day after a guest cancels his reservation with refund policies. Each message you create has to have a category assigned to it, and a message type.

The three different types of messages that can be set up under ‘Event Messages’ are ‘Administrative’, ‘Financial’, and ‘Marketing’. You can also choose to send either an email or a text message (SMS). It is very important to pay attention to which category you assign to your messages, because those categories correspond with who the guest has designated to receive each type of message. (This is managed in the Guest Extranet.) More details in section  3.4 - Event Messages   below.
