Another Event Message Example: Vacation Rental is Ready for Check-In


One thing practically all vacation rental companies have in common is that they have guests who want to check in early. During the course of the rental season, a lot of time is spent communicating with guests regarding whether or not their rental property is ready early. Welcome Home can help cut down on the amount of time you spend on this question. By utilizing the functionality in the Event Messaging portion of Welcome Home, you can design either an email or text message that will automatically be sent when a property’s status is changed to ‘Is Clean’ in the Housekeeping Module of VRM. 

As part of the initial set-up for this message you select how many hours before check-in time you would like for the system to start looking for properties that have the ‘Is Clean’ status. When the time you determined comes, Welcome Home will check for any properties that are clean and will send a message to the guests checking into those properties letting them know their vacation rentals are clean and ready for check-in. Every fifteen minutes after the initial group of messages goes out, the system will check for any properties that have had a status change and will send messages out to those guests. This process will continue until check-in time has been reached. You can tailor the message to fit your company’s check-in procedures and include where the guest needs to go to pick up the keys, or the lock-box combination.
